The world we live in today is entering a new era of growth, transformation and restructuring. The increased connection between economic and social communities has resulted in the growth of free trade zones (FTZ) and market freedom. At the same time, the global economy is restructuring itself in response to rising protectionism and unilateralism. This has hindered globalization, leaving a scar on multilateralism and free trade. Today, uncertainties remain, and the risks are growing.
To adapt to this new era of globalization and further open up the market, it is imperative to accelerate the development of FTZs. China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and Hainan Provincial People's Provincial Government will jointly hold the first International Free Trade Zones Development Forum in Haikou, Hainan on May 21-22, 2019 to discuss key issues in implementing the FTZ strategy across the state, and positioning FTZ as a new driving force for reform and opening up.
The Forum, themed "Building a better business environment and a new driving force for free trade", will cover agenda items including "A New Chapter of Opening-up: Building a more International and Convenient Market", "A Better Business Environment: Fairness and Rule of Law", "Collaboration in FTZ under Belt and Road Initiatives", "Opening-up and Development of FTZ Trade Services", "Financial Innovation Driven FTZ Development", and "Differentiated Growth and Local Highlights of FTZ". Around 800 representatives from domestic and foreign government institutions, FTZ administrations, industries and businesses, and academia will be invited to the forum.
We cordially invite your organization's representatives to join the forum. We look forward to your participation and more win-win outcomes with you in FTZ development.
