Colombia-China Business Forum held in Bogota

The Colombia-China Business Forum was held in Bogota on June 27. The forum, jointly hosted by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Colombia China Investment and Trade Association, and Bogota Chamber of Commerce, included major topics for discussion such as Sino-Colombian business cooperation outlook, new cooperation fields, trade and investment facilitation, etc. In addition, a B2B project match-making meeting was held as the sideline business event of the forum.

CCPIT Vice Chairman Chen Zhou reviewed the progress in the economic and trade cooperation between China and Colombia. He made three proposals with regard to deepening bilateral business cooperation. First, both sides shall further explore trade potentials to obtain more highlights and growth points for bilateral trade, expand trade volume and lift trade levels. Second, both sides shall make efforts to expand two-way investment, seek more cooperation patterns by favor of the Belt and Road Initiative, assist Colombia in industrial upgrading in energy, food processing and telecommunication services so as to back up the infrastructure construction of Colombia. Last but not least, both countries shall promote the matching of development strategies, deepen policy coordination, create favorable business environment to boost Sino-Colombian cooperation.

Around 150 delegates from Chinese and Colombian business community participated in the forum.
