“Global Economic and Trade Trends and Making New Ground in Pursuing Opening-up on All Fronts” Report Meeting successfully held

On the afternoon of March 29, the “Global Economic and Trade Trends and Making New Ground in Pursuing Opening-up on All Fronts” Report Meeting was held by CCPIT Beijing with CCPIT Tianjin, CCOIC Tianjin, CCPIT Hebei and CCOIC Hebei, co-organized by CCOIC Haidian. Chairman of CCPIT Beijing ZHANG Yongming and Vice Counselor WANG Chaoying attended the meeting. LI Gang, Vice Dean and research fellow at Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation (CAITEC), Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, delivered a keynote speech. The meeting was hosted by LIN Bin, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Beijing, Vice President and Secretary General of Beijing Chamber of International Commerce (BCIC). More than 100 representatives from the organizing, co-organizing and member organizations attended the meeting.

The meeting consisted of two sessions.  In the first session, LI introduced the current global economic trends, reviewed the global economic development in 2017, and gave an extensive analysis of global trade and investment trends in 2018 as well as uncertainties related to tax reduction, interest rate increase and trade protectionism in global economic development, especially in the US. In the second session, LI gave an expert and insightful analysis of making new ground in pursuing opening-up on all fronts from seven perspectives, based on the report delivered at the 19th National Congress.

With an objective and comprehensive analysis, the meeting was informative and enlightening to all participants. It helps broaden the horizon of CCPIT sub-councils, CCOIC members and outward-looking enterprises. It also helps them understand the new developments and trends of global economy and trades, meet requirements in the new era of the open economy, tap into the opening-up opportunities and address new challenges in global tradedevelopment.
