The 20th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo (CHITEC) ended successful on the afternoon of June 10.
Under the guidance of the new development concept of innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing, this year’s expo, with the theme of “Technology Leading Integrated Innovation”, has fully implemented the national innovation-driven development strategy and national scientific and technological innovation planning of the 13th Five-Year Plan, exhibiting original technological achievements, allocating resources and presenting high quality programs to the whole world, exploring new economy and new industry, and developing new idea, new pattern, and new engine, to lead green development and impel industrial upgrade and economic transformation with the support of science and technology.
According to incomplete statistics, during the current Expo, the number of transactions in technology and projects in industrial cooperation has reached 82, with a total amount of 73.326 billion yuan. Compared with previous years’ expo, there are four features of the signed projects this year. First, the structural characteristics of high-grade, -precision and advanced industry is highlighted. The contract value, including aerospace technology projects, for example, the CommSat’s global shared satellite constellation program, new generation of information technology projects, new materials projects, biotechnology projects and others, amounts to 49.5 billion yuan, accounting for 67.5% of the total. Secondly, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integrated development is intensified. Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei contracts signed this year, comprising Tianjin Dongjiang bonded port project, Hebei Cangzhou Bohai new area project, Hebei Longhua county agricultural cooperation project and others, account for 12.4% of the total, obtaining a significant year-on-year growth. Thirdly, non-capital functions are actively eased and "big city diseases" are also treated. The total value of projects dealing with such problems is more than 5 billion yuan. Many projects signed this year vigorously ease non-capital functions, with a number of Bejiing-based companies building factories and logistics bases in Hebei. Moreover, many projects like smart city, smart transportation, new energy automobile and hydrogen fuel, actively treat "big city diseases". Lastly, the proportion of scientific and technological projects benefiting the people is prominent. The value of contracts, including health project for all people launched by Shandong Jinluban Group, urban redevelopment project, and Internet of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau yak and adoption of yaks, which emphasize serving people’s livelihood and utilizing technologies to benefit the people, is up to 20.8 billion yuan, 28.4% of the total value. More than 200, 000 people have participated in the activities of the three-day Expo.
Following are the characteristics of this year’s Expo.
This year’s Expo that fully demonstrates that Chinese scientific and technological innovation has reached a new height: a number of Chinese original, proactive, guiding, disruptive and advanced technologies in the fields like artificial intelligence, big data, intelligent hardware, new materials, high-end equipment manufacturing, energy conservation and environment protection, and precision medicine, have been displayed, with a group of pioneering technologies and products leading the world and a number of industrial clusters which own some dominant power in technology becoming the benchmark of industrial upgrade.
New materials technology forges ahead rapidly, and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements accelerates. The wide application of graphene and nanotechnology can be seen in the exhibitions from across the country. Series products of graphene are displayed in Sichuan exhibition area. In particular, the advent of waterborne functionalized graphene symbolizes China has taken the lead to achieve breakthroughs in graphene application.
Artificial intelligence technology is everywhere in the Expo. China's virtual reality technology strides forward and has been widely used in entertainment, education, health care, tourism, construction, manufacturing and other fields. The adaptive interpupillary distance of the VR helmet (the second generation), a product of the ANTVR equipped with the unique Inside-out Infrared Positional Tracking System to achieve wide-range and infinite-extensive precious location tracking, takes the lead in the world. World’s first VR eye-tracking module—aGlass created by the 7invensun Company owns three major world’s leading technologies—full-view tracking, high precision, and low latency. Big data is everywhere. Inner Mongolia’s big data service platform of grassland for grazing based on the Beidou satellite and Guizhou’s early warning platform of heavy regional flood and drought disasters based on big data are examples of big data application. The Expo vigorously promotes the "Made in China 2025" strategy, intensively demonstrating China's intelligent manufacturing level.
Outstanding technological achievements have been displayed competitively across the country, with high-tech development zones and scientific and technological industry parks gathering and strategic emerging industries expanding rapidly.
Guizhou high-tech development zones and scientific and technological industry parks work together to show key breakthroughs, green development, and the post-transcendence spirit. Industrial cloud, food safety cloud, and smart tourism cloud make Guizhou a famous place of clouds. Guangdong shows the blueprint of constructing a national science and technology industry innovation center and becoming the strategic pivot of the Belt and Road (B&R) Initiative. Nanning-Zhongguancun Mass Entrepreneurship & Innovation Demonstration Base gathers strategic emerging industries, displaying the construction fruits of the China - ASEAN information port. Heilongjiang’s emerging technologies flourish, and utilizing high and new technologies to transform traditional industries gains remarkable outcomes. Chongqing builds the western innovation highland. Tibet's biotechnology possesses the wings of wisdom. Qinghai’s industrial clusters for comprehensive utilization of Salt Lake resources are rising.
This year’s Expo highlights a new industrial atmosphere showing that science and technology creates people's livelihood and has permeated all aspects of life. Technology and people's lives are closely linked, such technologies as smart city, smart home, smart transportation, smart health care, and smart life have improved our life quality and brought great changes to the economic society. In the Smart Beijing Exhibition, we can see workers wearing intelligent helmets on the smart construction site and smart transportation system including intelligent lamp pole, intelligent street lights, and intelligent parking.
In this year’s Expo, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, which has initially formed a new pattern of regional collaborative innovation, builds synergetic innovation platform and jointly creates innovation and entrepreneurship carriers, with the synergetic sharing mechanism achieving remarkable results.
Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone is an important bridgehead in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integrated development, showing public service platform of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei technological innovation and taking the lead to complete building an overall and integrated service support system, based in Beijing Yizhuang and opening to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Development Zone, to give impetus to mass entrepreneurship and innovation and to promote industrial collaboration and enterprise transformation. Tianjin exhibits the achievements in aerospace, high-end equipment, biological medicine, Internet +, clean energy, and new materials with high technology content and high industrialization level. For example, Tianjin Additive Manufacturing Demonstration （3D Printing）Center, constructing an enterprise service platform for rapid development of the digitalization of enterprise products in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, has been the leader of the rapid manufacturing industry. Hebei industrial parks, attracting investments in the Expo, has become a major carrier in undertaking Beijing non-capital functions. Hebei Bohai New Area, exhibiting nine functional parks comprising biological medicine, logistics, petrochemical, e-commerce, automobile, high-end manufacturing, duty-free logistics and warehousing, seizes the great opportunity of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integrated development and the B&R Initiative, striving to be a pilot area of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integrated development to seek cooperation. Promotion of Technology and Agriculture Trust Brands in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region integrates trust brand resources, establishes the technology and agriculture credit system and boosts investment cooperation.
The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei development strategy is actively joined by all regions. Guizhou mainly displays the new generation information technology industry represented by big data and Internet + and the new medical health care industry to seek cooperation opportunities. Hunan province organizes a high-standard and large-scale delegation to fully participate in all the activities, to profoundly join the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region (Xiongan New Area), to vigorously build Beijing-Hunan cooperation platform and to impel introducing intelligence, investment and technology.
All regions actively join the B&R Initiative, participating positively in creating the B&R synergetic innovation community and improving the world’s ability to allocate innovative resources.
Xinjiang demonstrates the construction results of the innovation-driven pilot zones, along the Silk Road Economic Belt, of which seven zones, including Urumqi High-tech Zone, Karamay High-tech Zone, and Shihezi High-tech Zone, are unveiled together. Changji National Agricultural Science and Technology Park demonstrates its technological advantages in molecular marker-assisted breeding technology, western dry farming agricultural technology, and preparation technology of functional polypeptide from Xinjiang’s featured plants. Inner Mongolia shows the B&R Initiative strongly promotes the regional science and technology development, emphasizing Sino-Mongolian cooperation projects in science and technology research and development, technology transfer and other fields.
Seen from this year’s Expo, China's new ecology of mass entrepreneurship and innovation has been formed, with innovation and entrepreneurial model upgrading. Mass entrepreneurship and innovation being the mainline, Zhongguancun focuses on displaying its unique advantages in talents, technology, policy innovation, brand, environment and other aspects, and Zhongguancun’s 10 business incubation modes, demonstrating that Zhongguancun’s entrepreneurship and innovation shifts gradually and deeply from business model innovation which concentrates on the Internet and mobile Internet to the new phase when technological innovation and model innovation drive parallelly, and showing that Zhongguancun’s entrepreneur service has entered the 3.0 era of network, alliance, platformization, ecologicalization and professionalization.
