CCPIT Beijing Facilitated Matchmaking between the Embassy of the Dominican Republic and Key Enterprises in Beijing

Following the Dominican Investment Environment and Free Zone Policy Promotion Conference, CCPIT Beijing actively facilitated the matchmaking between the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Beijing and Beijing’s key enterprises Shougang Group and BOE. They had face-to-face exchanges and discussed the cooperation opportunities.

Briunny Garabito Segura, the Dominican Ambassador to China, briefed the two enterprises the relevant situations in the Dominican Republic in detail and responded to the questions raised by them. He stressed that with the rapid economic growth, the Dominican Republic now has great demands for infrastructure construction, and it has developed a sound system of laws and regulations on foreign investment protection. He expected more Chinese enterprises to invest in the Dominican Republic, and fully leverage the zero-tariff policy in the local free trade zones to develop product manufacturing and enter the markets in the Americas and Europe, saying that the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Beijing will make every effort to facilitate the visits to the Dominican Republic by the delegations of Chinese enterprises.

During the discussion with the Ambassador, Han Qing, Deputy General Manager of Shougang Group, underlined the development history of the Group, its products that cover the entire steel industry chain, and the integrated urban service business, and arranged a visit for the Ambassador to the old Shougang Park under renovation, saying that the Dominican Republic is a politically stable and friendly country with obvious geographical advantages and favorable policies for attracting investment. He hoped that the two sides can deepen communication and mutual understanding and further explore the cooperation opportunities to facilitate Shougang’s expansion in global trade and logistics and engagement in urban infrastructure construction of multiple countries.

Wang Tianye, Director of the B2B Display Innovation Business Department of BOE Global Marketing Center, introduced BOE’s business scope and product advantages, communicated with the Dominican side the status of investment in local free trade zones by Chinese enterprises and its advantages in logistics compared with other Latin American countries, and expressed the willingness to cooperate with the Dominican Republic in more areas.

The International Liaison Department and the Investment Promotion Department of CCPIT Beijing participated in the above mentioned matchmaking activity. CCPIT Beijing, as a linkage between the people, enterprises and groups in trade sectors and a bridge that promotes economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between domestic and foreign business communities, will provide all-round services and support for Beijing enterprises to cooperate with the Dominican Republic in trade and investment.
