CCPIT Beijing Vice Chairwoman Wu Lanlan met with Minister Counsellor Mr. David Khor Tark Wei from Embassy of Malaysia, Beijing

On December 15^th, Ms. Wu Lanlan, Vice Chairwoman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT Beijing), met with Mr. David Khor Tark Wei, Minister Counsellor (Investment) of the Embassy of Malaysia, Beijing, and Director of Beijing Office of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA). The two sides exchanged views on the pragmatic cooperation and other topics of common interest.

Vice Chairwoman Ms. Wu Lanlan briefed Mr. David Khor Tark Wei about the history, functions and main businesses of CCPIT Beijing, as well as the construction of the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Service Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone (Two Zones), the development of the China International Fair for Trade in Services, the ZGC Forum, and the Financial Street Forum (Three Platforms), and the measures taken to develop Beijing into an international consumption center. She also extended invitation to the Malaysian institutions and enterprises to participate in the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services. Ms. Wu said that CCPIT Beijing and MIDA are similar in such functions as facilitating enterprises to “go global” and assisting them in the resolution of commercial disputes, and hoped that the two sides will strengthen mutual exchanges and cooperation by organizing targeted online and offline activities, to offer to enterprises more information on investment environment and increase two-way investment.

Minister Counsellor Mr. David Khor Tark Wei said that as an important member of ASEAN and a node country along the Belt and Road, Malaysia has always been putting the economic and trade relations with China and Beijing high on the agenda, and stressed MIDA’s willingness to join hands with CCPIT Beijing in guiding more outbound investment by enterprises of both sides into the electrical and electronic industry, medical and biological industry, machinery and equipment, and aerospace. In addition, Mr. David Khor Tark Wei introduced MIDA’s main functions, operation mode and business in Beijing, as well as the pandemic prevention and control in Malaysia. He said that MIDA will actively organize Malaysian enterprises to participate in the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services, strengthen the communication and interaction with CCPIT Beijing, and organize investment promotion activities together with CCPIT Beijing.
