22nd CHITEC Holds News Briefing in Beijing

On the morning of October 18, the 22nd China Beijing International High-Tech Expo held a news briefing at Beijing News Publishing Building. Tian Wei, Director of International News Reporting, Publicity Department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, hosted the briefing. Over 50 reporters attended, including those from major press units under the central government and Beijing municipality, and resident foreign correspondents. Lin Bin, Deputy Head of the Office of CHITEC Organizing Committee and Deputy Director of CCPIT Beijing, briefed the reporters on the overall arrangements and preparation of this year’s CHITEC.

The 22nd CHITEC will be held in Beijing from October 24 to 27, 2019. It is organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, State Intellectual Property Office, CCPIT and Beijing municipality, and co-organized by CCPIT Beijing. So far, various preparations have been completed. Over 20 foreign delegations have confirmed participation, including those of two international organizations (the UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development, and the New Development Bank) and 19 countries/regions (the US, the UK, Australia, Germany, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Italy, etc.). Domestic participants include 20-odd autonomous regions/provinces/cities (Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Zhejiang, Fujian, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Tibet, etc.). More than 1,200 companies will exhibit at CHITEC.

Lin Bin answered questions on the original aspiration and mission of CHITEC, the highlights of the Exhibition for Scientific Winter Olympics, and the efforts and achievements of the previous 21 CHITECs in “developing new technologies based on new ideas”. After the briefing, he gave an interview to BTV and other media agencies.
