To follow the guidelines of Mayor Chen Jining on “researching and promoting the application of exemplary new technologies for Beijing Winter Olympics”, a delegation of the CCPIT Beijing-based Secretariat of the International Business Leaders’ Advisory Council for the Mayor of Beijing visited and compared notes with the Winter Olympics Organizing Committee. The delegation was made up of 31 executives/delegates from 17 multinationals, most of which are Council members.
Lin Bin, Vice Chair of CCPIT Beijing, and delegates from Daimler, Schneider Electric, Panasonic, ABB, PwC, Siemens and EDF introduced new products and technologies in such areas as transport services, energy, financial audit, and venue construction. They also expressed their intention to make common cause in the run-up to the Winter Olympics. Guo Huaigang, Director of the Secretarial and Administrative Department of the Organizing Committee, briefed the delegates on the progress of Olympic preparation. He hoped the Council members could unleash their own advantages to provide proven experience, premium resources and best practices for Olympic preparation, city operation, and winter sports promotion, so as to make the Games truly exceptional. Jia Li, Deputy Director of the Technical Department of the Organizing Committee, attended the meeting together with the Committee’s heads of planning and construction, marketing, finance, Olympic service, and logistics.
