Vice Director Ma Changjun Leads Delegation to 2017 C6 Meeting in Russia

On Sept. 6^th-10^th, 2017, a CCPIT Beijing delegation led by Vice Director Ma Changjun attended the Meeting of C6 Business Council of the Chambers of Commerce of the Largest Cities (hereinafter referred to as the “C6 Meeting”) and relevant activities. At the Meeting, the delegation promoted the Alliance of the Chambers of Commerce of B&R Cities launched by itself, aiming to enhance friendly intercourse and trade cooperation with chambers of commerce.

Mr. Ma talked with some 30 city leaders, heads of chambers of commerce, and business delegates from Moscow, Paris, Berlin, Istanbul, San Jose and Geneva. Consensus was reached on trade cooperation, platform co-building, exchange visits and business handover. During three meetings with Natalya Sergunina (Vice Mayor of Moscow), Alexei Fursin (Director of the Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship of the Moscow Government), and Vice Chair and members of the Moscow City Duma, Mr. Ma knew more about local market needs and support policies for housing and transport infrastructure construction, and inquired about the processes and provisions concerning forest and property development by Chinese businesses in Russia.

The C6 Meeting focused on two topics: “How to improve infrastructure and public services of the largest cities so as to create a more comfortable living environment?” and “How can chambers of commerce help competent authorities develop better policies and build sci-tech towns?”. Mr. Ma revealed how far Beijing had gone in building sub-centers and planning three sci-tech towns, namely Zhongguancun Sci-tech Town, Future Sci-tech Town, and Huairou Sci-tech Town. Delegates introduced new opportunities of their respective cities and new modes of cooperation between chambers of commerce. The delegates also attended a workshop by Igor Ishchenko (CEO of Technopolis Moscow), visited technology companies and two practice bases for primary and secondary school students in the Technopolis, and developed a thorough understanding of its plans and policies regarding startup incubation and tender invitation.
