Chen Jining, Acting Mayor of Beijing, Met with Representatives of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) Chamber of Commerce in the Republic of Montenegro

On 15th September local time, Chen Jining, acting mayor of Beijing, attended the Forum for Mayors of Capitals of “16+1” China-Central and Eastern European Countries. During his talk with organizers of the First "16+1" Capitals' Heads of Chambers of Commerce Roundtable Negotiation, Chen stressed the importance that the Chambers of Commerce in the "16+1" capitals should take the advantage of capital cities' cohesive power and use it to its full potential, thus encouraging each country's industrial and commercial sectors to participate in the "Belt and Road" Initiative as well as the China-CEE cooperative mechanism, so as to promote sustained, rapid development of economic and trade cooperation between China and Europe. Representatives from different Chambers of Commerce at the meeting highly appreciated the Roundtable initiated by Beijing, and expressed that they would make full use of the cooperative mechanism, fulfill their obligations and make efforts to facilitate win-win cooperation between their member companies and Beijing.

Representatives from 13 Chambers of Commerce of 11 countries attended the meeting, including: China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing/Beijing Chamber of International Commerce, Tirana Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Albania, Sarajevo Economic Chamber of Commerce of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Zagreb Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Croatia, Budapest Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Hungary, Riga Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Latvia, the Macedonian Chamber of Commerce, the Macedonian Information and Communication Technology Chamber of Commerce, the Montenegro Economic Chamber of Commerce, the Economists and Managers Association of Montenegro, Bucharest Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Romania and Belgrade Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Serbia.
