Press Release for the 19th CHITEC Held in Beijing

The press release for the 19th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo (CHITEC) was held this afternoon at Beijing News and Publishing Building.

Yu Haibo (deputy director of the CHITEC Organizing Committee Office & vice president of CCPIT Beijing Sub-council, the organizer) introduced the general arrangements and preparations of this year's event to more than 60 journalists present, on behalf of the CHITEC Organizing Committee.

Attending the press release were Lin Shunjie (director of Investment Promotion Department of CCPIT) and Zhang Gang (deputy director of the CHITEC Organizing Committee Office & vice president of CCPIT Beijing Sub-council). The press release was moderated by Xu Jianhe, deputy director of News Office of the Beijing Municipal Government.

The 19th China Beijing International High-tech Expo (CHITEC), which is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, State Intellectual Property Office, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and Beijing Municipal Government, and is organized by CCPIT Beijing Sub-council, will be held in Beijing during May 18–22, 2016. As yet, full preparations have been made for all activities in the Expo.

The 19th CHITEC includes the main activities as follows: a) Keynote Speeches at CPPCC Auditorium on the morning of May 18; b) "Walk into CHITEC and Experience Beijing" activities during May 3–22; c) CHITEC Exhibition at China International Exhibition Center (old center) including 12 thematic exhibition areas during May 19–22; and d) 6 thematic forums and 12 biztalks.

Also present in the press release were over 60 reporters from China Central Television, China National Radio, China Radio International, Beijing Television, Radio Beijing, People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, and other well-known media outlets.

Meanwhile, @Beijing Release, Qianlong.com, and Beijing.gov.cn provided live broadcast of the press release textually and graphically.

During the media Q&A session, Lin Shunjie and Zhang Gang answered such media concerns as the achievements and effects of the CHITEC and its influence on the exhibition industry of China, as well as how CHITEC 2016 will integrate the resources of Beijing into a whole and play an exemplary and guiding role as a national sci-tech innovation center.
