The delegation of commerce and trade consisting of 22 British enterprises visited Beijing in the second half of November. To take full use of this chance to bridge Chinese and British enterprises to understand each other, the CCPIT Beijing, at the request of the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), provided assistance and arrangements for the enterprises to carry out business visit and negotiation. On Nov. 25, the CCPIT Beijing organized over 20 Chinese enterprises to attend the “Beijing-London Middle and Small Enterprises and 2012 London Olympic Games Cooperation Seminar” held by the London Delegation of Commerce and Trade in Beijing Beichen Intercontinental Hotel. The seminar aimed to provide guidance for middle and small enterprises to participate in the 2012 London Olympic Games by dint of the procurement policies and practice for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. At the seminar, the procurement department of the market development commission of the COC, the Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau (BIPB) and British GLE oneLondon respectively explained the Olympic economic problems, and overall introduced the related policies, operation methods and approaches as well as commercial services. The procurement experience for the Beijing Olympic Games, the guarantee policies by the London Government, business information and some follow-up services in terms of British import and export, laws and taxes, provided rare opportunities for middle and small enterprises to make goods supply for the London Games, and greatly relieved their worries about the export and import trading risks.
On Nov. 26, to enhance the cooperation between Chinese and British enterprises and chambers of commerce, some commercial organizations and enterprise representatives paid a visit to the CCPIT Beijing, Deputy Chairman CHU Xiangyin and related personnel from the Foreign Trade Department received the guests. CHU firstly introduced the working situations and some activities of business promotion, hoped to promote the trade contacts between both sides via the cooperation between chambers of commerce, especially to assist middle and small enterprises in Beijing to seize the good opportunity of this London Games to introduce more first-class goods to British market. British delegates appreciated the CCPIT Beijing for the assistance, and especially invited the CCPIT Beijing to organize Chinese enterprises to visit London for on-site inspection and trade negotiation, and hoped to promote mutual understanding and cooperation each other.
