CCPIT Chair Madame XIONG JiuLing attended the 22nd Asia Trade Promotion Forum (ATPF) annual meeting held in XiaMen, FuJian Province during 22- 24 April 2009. This gala gathered 15 economies and 50 officials and representatives from trade promotion organizations from such countries as Asian countries and regions like Japan, Australia, South Korea, Vietnam, Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Mongolia, China, the Philippines, Hong Kong, MaCao, TaiWan.
ATPF was founded in 1987. Members include 21 trade promotion organizations that are relatively more influential in Asia
The opening ceremony was presided over by Vice Chair of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Mr. YU Ping. Chief economist of Asia Development Bank Doctor Douglas H. Brooks delivered a speech on “the Impact of Financial Crisis on Asia.” Then the forum was split into three sections: ”the role and countermeasures of trade promotion organizations,“ “trade in services” and “branding strategy of economies and other related issues.”
The meeting helped CCPIT Beijing in expanding outbound exchanges and laid a solid foundation for conducting deep exchange and cooperation with the said trade promotion organizations.
