Chairs of C-5 Chambers of Industry and Commerce gather in Beijing

The third edition of C-5 (Beijing, Moscow, Paris, Berlin and London) meeting, hosted by CCPIT Beijing was held in Beijing 8 April 2010. With “city chambers of commerce synergy and countermeasures in financial crisis“ as the theme, the meeting focused on exchange of experiences in chamber of commerce helping the city and enterprises pulling through difficulties in course of the economic crisis, discussing the thinking and plans of cooperation between the five chambers of commerce this year.

Before the meeting, Vice Mayor CHENG Hong met the 5 Chairs and their representatives, fully confirming the consequential role economic cooperation between big cites played in the development of the city, stressing the consequential position of such economic cooperation it played in the national and economic development of the capital city and the leading and model role it played to other ordinary cities.

The meeting achieved the following substantial results: 1) the five cities will work together to establish the information network platform to promote enterprise exchanges; 2) facilitated the educational cooperation project between HEC Paris and Beijing University of Science and technology which plans to train 100 strong Chinese senior executives; 3) C-5 members are to offer all-out service to the enterprises from the 5 cities that go and do business in that city; 4) CCPIT Beijing and Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry will co-hold investment and technical project cooperation exchange meeting in Beijing this July.

C-5 Meeting is an exchange platform for multi-chamber of commerce under Beijing’s sister city framework. The first and second edition were held in Berlin and Moscow respectively. The C-5 Meeting will play a positive role in promoting the economic cooperation between Beijing and world metropolitan cities, speed up the process of the building of a world city.
