To further Beijing-Taiwan cultural and creative industry exchange, the Cross-Straits Cultural and Creative Industry Expo 2010 was held again in Taiwan during 23-26 April 2010 following the last edition which was held last year also in Taiwan. Guided and sponsored by relevant departments and organizations across the straits, 67 cultural & creative, arts & crafts enterprises, 6 cultural creative clusters, 121 cultural creative management authority representatives attended the event. The theme of this year’s expo was “cooperation, development and win-win,” with a total of 600 square meter exhibition area. The exhibition attracted 20,000 strong Taiwanese, from both the industry and the general public. The trading volume of the exhibition reached CNY50mln, a four times increase over the first edition.
The expo featured two sections: the “Traditional Chinese Arts and Crafts Exhibition Area” and “Modern Innovative Exhibition Area.” The “Traditional Chinese Arts and Crafts Exhibition Area” displayed Beijing’s arts and crafts, 300 strong exhibits in more than 20 categories; the “Modern Innovative Exhibition Area” collected quite a number of time-honored brands from ZhongHua Book Company, and at the same time, a number of emerging cultural and creative enterprises also participated and demonstrated the remarkable achievements scored recently and the development of modern cultural and creative industry in Beijing.
Besides the exhibition, a forum was also held, at which 9 participants from both Beijing and Taiwan delivered themed speeches on development and achievements of cross-straits cultural and creative industry, cultural and creative branding strategy, creative added value, marketing etc.
