CCPIT Beijing Vice Chair NI YueGang met with the delegation from MaCao headed by Director of Cultural Bureau of MaCao Mr. WU WeiMing for the Cultural Expo on 16 November 2010.
Mr. NI expressed his welcome for MaCao’s participation for the first time of the Expo. He said that MaCao’s rapid economic development in recent years has been boosting the rising of cultural and creative industry. Beijing prioritizes the development of cultural and creative industry in recent years and the city government gives support in policy and finance for the industry while at the same time Beijing also values cooperation with MaCao and hopes to strengthen cooperation with MaCao and utilizes each other’s strength, complement each other in all fields of cultural and creative industry for a purpose of common development. Meanwhile, MaCao, as the bridgehead to Portuguese speaking countries and European region, features an irreplaceable role in establishing bridge with international exchange channels. NI briefed the guests the overall situation of the Expo and particularly recommended 798 DaShanZi Art Center, the Cable8 and other art and creative facilities.
Mr. WU said that he was happy to be at the expo. He said that the delegation which was composed of 45 members was done in a rather short time, mainly from publishing and design industry. MaCao is a rich culturally diversified region. Except Portuguese culture, it also has a close connection with Latin culture and African culture, boasting distinctive strength in communicating with these regions.
The two had also held discussions on how to further enhance cooperation in cultural and creative industry, promoting economic and cultural exchanges between Beijing and MaCao.
