Overview:
India is a big developing country. China and India have become the engine for Asia or even the world’s economy. Bilateral economic and trade has been on rapid increase and accelerating. Bilateral trade volume has grown from $3.59billion in 2001 to $20billion in 2006 with a continued high rate increase in recent years. Two way investment grows 10 times. Infrastructure projects in India undertaken by Chinese enterprises exceeded a worth of US$10bilion.
As the biggest import and export country in south Asia with China, India has been amplifying its cooperation with China in multi fields. In 2010, with economic recovery and the 60 anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties, high level exchange visits and economic and trade dealings between the two countries are on the rise. International events like the Shanghai Expo, Guangzhou Asian Games are enabling more frequent people to people exchange and communications. China has become one of the important travel destinations for India. Bilateral trade volume in 2010 exceeded expectation, US$61.7billion, a 43% increase as compared with US$43billion in 2009.

Premier WEN Jiabao visited India in 2010 for free trade negotiations when and where he claimed that China and India’s relations had become more mature which would for sure stimulate Sino-India economic and trade development. India, as a member of BRIC, its big population, more and more open stance, are catching overseas investors and multinational companies' attention. 2011 The 9th China Products (Mumbai India) Exhibition will serve as a perfect opportunity for domestic enterprises to observe and explore the Indian market, initiate face to face negotiations with Indian importers, dealers, sales of products.
