The Signing Ceremony for Scientific and Technological Cooperation Projects of the 21st CHITEC Held

On May 18, the signing ceremony for scientific and technological cooperation projects of the 21st China Beijing International High-Tech Expo was held at Beijing International Hotel. At the ceremony, 21 projects, with a total value of 15.687 billion yuan, have been signed. The projects highlight hi-tech and cutting-edge industries, focus on the building of scientific and technological innovation center and boost enterprises’ innovation and green development, which fully embodies this year’s theme, “Take the Lead in Hi-tech Industries and Facilitate the Development of S&T Innovation Centers”. The following features are manifested:

First, highlighting hi-tech and cutting-edge industries.

Beijing, while closely centering on the strategic positioning of the capital city, is reducing functions unrelated to its status as national capital, vigorously optimizing and adjusting the industrial structure, accelerating the major change from aggregating resources for growth to relieving the city of functions for development, and striving to build an economic structure of hi-tech and cutting-edge industries to achieve high-quality development. Most of the signed projects are aimed at the hi-tech industrial system involving intelligent manufacturing, integrated circuit, biological medicine, and new material, which highlights hi-tech and cutting-edge industries.

Beijing Zhifei Lvzhu Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a state-level high-tech enterprise integrating research and development, manufacturing and marketing of vaccine, will invest 2.529 billion yuan to build a new combined vaccine industrialization production base which covers an area of 39,000 square meters. Qorvo (Beijing) Co., Ltd. will introduce advanced technology from the headquarters to expand its RF device testing business. Hanhai Zhiye Co., Ltd. will establish an international scientific and technological innovation demonstration base in Chaoyang District. An international park for science, technology and culture will be constructed to develop service industries such as artificial intelligence R&D, intelligent manufacturing, culture creativity and financial investment. In addition, strategic cooperation of multi-field nano-spinning application R&D, new anti-bacterial radiation proof materials, AR art museum and laboratory, future digital classrooms for Chinese and English learning and other new materials and virtual reality projects are also included.

Second, focusing on the building of scientific and technological innovation center.

The construction of national scientific and technological innovation center is a major historical mission assigned by the Party Central Committee and the State Council to Beijing, which is also a significant historical opportunity for Beijing to serve China’s development into a powerful nation of science and technology in the world. The signed projects involve a number of innovative and technology-based companies who will establish headquarters in Beijing, giving expression to Beijing’s efforts to build a nationwide technological innovation center.

Beijing Shi Yuan Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. will invest 300 million yuan to build an interactive intelligent terminal industrial base in Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone, including the establishment of Shi Yuan Innovation Research Institute and Headquarters for the Northern Region in Beijing. Shenzhen DJ Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. will construct its Beijing research center in Chaoyang District for software and internet technologies R&D and introduce world’s top software products and talents. The headquarters construction project and unmanned system development center project implemented by Beijing ZhongHangZhi Technology Co., Ltd. will build its headquarters in Beijing and establish complete machine production base, system integration and test base, production and research base, and innovation and incubator center. The processing equipment integration project for rail transit automation system carried out by Beijing Changke Automation System Equipment Co., Ltd. will develop businesses including rail transit, information application integration, and track equipment operation and maintenance.

Third, boosting enterprises’ innovation and green development.

The “Five Development Concepts” of innovation, coordination, green, openness, and sharing, which reflect China’s thought, direction, and acting point of development for the period of “13th Five-Year Plan” and even longer, are theoretical guidelines for realizing the established development goals of China's “13th Five-Year Plan”, tackling development challenges, and accumulating development advantages. The signed projects fully mirror the concepts of innovation and green.

Gezhouba Jinghuan Technology Co., Ltd. will invest 3 billion yuan to build a circular economy industrial park and is committed to constructing a full-cycle solid waste disposal and utilization platform for all categories to increase the level of urban solid waste resource utilization. The online taxi-hailing service project signed by Chaoyang District People's Government, BAIC Mobility Co., Ltd, and Huidi (Tianjin) Commercial Services Co., Ltd. will center on cooperation in industrial chains including big data application, intelligent drive, custom-made vehicles, and new energy vehicles. The project signed by Guoxin Rongzhi Fund Management (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Huaqing Antai (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. will focus on the utilization of geothermal energy and realize the “energy trusteeship” model which integrates investment, construction, and operation. The young fruit mechanized bagging equipment R&D project for modern orchard will be used to prevent pests and diseases and reduce pesticide residues.
